Hi Guys. I've just be given a new laptop (from work but I use it for GB-PVR dev also) and so have been busy setting it up and installing stuff. I've noticed that the CS3 preview shown in the GB-PVR config app is pretty old and only shows a blue skin. Wouldn't it be nice to have a preview showing what the CS3 is about (split into 4 mini previews of some of the themes) and/or the CS3 project logo?

Hairy, you up for it? Size of jpg required is 400x300.

I thought we had it set up to copy the correct preview of the selected theme?

I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Yeah sure, my plan was to suggest using the logo (or a slightly jazzed version) for the preview pic, that way it would be constant no matter what theme is used.

I was gonna' include it with the new theme set I've been butting heads with lately (along with a little xml formatting... oh and to add those wiki edits that have been sitting in the wiki sandbox for weeks now :o), I really should have finished this stuff weeks ago. Unfortunately I just can't seem to get the theme to a spot where I'm happy with it. I hope to really get it together by the weekend, but thats what I said last weekend Smile :o

I could probably knock up a few preview pics with the logo, post them here and see what people think?

Ah nuts I really should read the thread first......

My preview stays constant but a dynamic preview of the current CS3 theme would probably be the best bet. I'm up for doing the constant logo one as well though, either way Big Grin

Hmm, I think you're right. So my question is what is the default preview.jpg / theme installed?

When I remember, I try to set it to reflect-green before packaging up.

Sometimes I forget and have other themes set. My remember-iser is past its warranty though.

There are a couple of previews for each theme in the "...Plugins\SkinPlugin\Resources\Themes" folder you could use one of those for whichever theme you're using.

I'll have to look at the theme xml files and see if the provision is there and what not.

We would need to add it in.

We used to do this under gbpvr.exe
Quote:<EditableSkinItem name="MainMenuEditableSkinItem" type="MainMenu" displayText="Main Menu" imageSetSubdirectoryName="MainMenus" imageFileFilter="preview.jpg" imageTarget="%SKINROOT%\preview.jpg" previewRef="42" forcePreviewNumbers="9"/>

So maybe we should place a file called preview.jpg in the previews folder (usually the main menu) that the skinplugin grabs.
