remote doesn't work

I used the hauppauge software that came on the cd, and everything worked, but the image centering was way off. I then downloaded and installed the software from shspvr.com for the mediamvp, the image is centered a little better on the TV, but the remote doesn't work now. The front LED blinks when buttons are pressed on the remote, but they aren't processed. Has anyone seen this before?

What colour is your remote? I have heard of one user that got a black remote, which didnt work. The standard remote is silver.

It is a silver faceplate with black bottom. It does not work with the hauppauge software/menu either, but LED shows activity when buttons are pressed.

Ok, thats the correct remote. Sorry I dont know. It might be worth asking over on shspvr.com. I'm sure I've seen other users there with the problem in the past.

i grabbed the beta software from hauppauge.com, MediaMVP beta version 2.2 _22324 which states:
Updates in this version:

* Now supports the "new" Hauppauge remote.

There is a link, http://registration.hauppauge.com/websto...asp#remote which is what my remote looks like. So it looks like I do have the new remote. It works with the hauppauge software now, but not GB-PVR, same results as before.

I used the dongle.bin file from the latest software version on hauppauge.com, copied that to gbpvr\dongle. The new remote works with gbpvr now, and the hauppauge services aren't needed at all.

also, on my dhcp server i give the mvp a fixed ip and added "next-server <ip of gbpvr>;" and the mvp starts up a lot faster than it did before.
