Two Programs

I noticed that GBPVR has another very similar program bundled with it: PVRX2. I haven't used PVRX2. Which is the better program?

GBPVR is an older version of the UI, which is no longer distributed since v1.2.13 - PVRX2 is current and will continue to be developed.

Some users may continue to use GBPVR since it can require less system resources than PVRX2, but developement has stopped and it may not support newer versions of plugins.

PVRX2 is better, read newer.
PVRX2 is the successor of GBPVR.
