Had a hard time getting the PVR-150 IR blaster to work with the QIP2500 FiOS STB, thought I'd pass along some tips.

1) Make sure the IR blaster works. I was using the Hauppauge blaster config tool and none of the IR codes worked. Luckily I had a spare duplicate Hauppauge IR receiver/blaster cable, and that one worked. You know it works because the blaster bulb lights up briefly when transmitting.

2) There are no QIP profiles in the Hauppauge config tool. The Motorola DCT2500 profile works though.

3) Turns out the IR blast from the Hauppauge cable is EXTREMELY weak. The only way I could get it to work was to:
a) remove the white plastic piece from the blaster housing (exposing the bulb)
b) pry open the plastic window on the front of the STB
c) hang the blaster from the top of the STB so the blaster bulb was TOUCHING the STB bulb
d) replace the plastic window and ensuring the bulbs are still touching

I've read sporadic reports of the serial port being active, so I'll try that next (but I'm not holding out much hope).

Ah, I see you are using the MCE IR blaster. It must have more "blast strength" than the one that came with my PVR-150.
