I have a Skystar 2 DVB-S card that GB-PVR isn't recognizing. I've reinstalled the BDA drivers like I've seen recommended in other posts, still nothing. Any other thoughts on how I can get the card recognized ?

Other software like DVBDream see the card without a problem.

Can you run filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log?

I'm pretty sure that this says that I don't have the BDA drivers installed, but I do. And DVBDream can see the card.

Yep, thats what its saying. You dont have BDA drivers installed. Some apps (like DVBDream) can use the old Skystar proprietary WDM drivers, but I'm not personally interested in adding support for those. You'd have to uninstall the WDM drivers and install the BDA ones instead if you want it to work with GB-PVR.

The driver package that is available via their site, is like an "install for dummies" type installer. You either install or not. There is no way to really select drivers other than what happens automatically. Are you familiar with how to install the BDA drivers ?

I dont own a Skystar2 device, so have never downloaded/installed their drivers, but I do know they have both the old style WDM drivers and BDA drivers. I remember previous discussion about it (for example http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=22220). The link in that thread is now broken, but if you head to google and search for "skystar2 bda drivers" you'll find what you are looking for.

You might find that the BDA drivers are just hidden away as a normally unused subdirectory in their main software download, with their own software preferring to install and use the older WDM drivers.

If you unzip the Technisat file, then the BDA driver information is contained in the file SkyNetBDA.inf, in the BDA subdirectory. Just get Windows to update the driver, and point it to this file.

Reply if you need more detailed instructions.
