I have to restart gb-pvr recording service a lot to get the webserver to start talking again. It seams to happen a few times a day where it refuses connections. Is this something that is known? Is there a fix for it?

Thanks,

Haven't run into this problem. The gbpvrRecording Service is what listens for the HTTP requests. When it stops responding, are there any error messages in the gbpvrRecording service logs?

I'm getting the same thing. Only message is "The connection was refused when attempting to contact 192.168.1.1:7647".
This is happening INSIDE my network where no firewalls are active. Windows Firewall is disabled on the server.

I had exactly the same problem.

Firstly I set the logging level in the Config Tab to Debug and OK'd out.

I then went to my gbpvr folder on the HDD and opened the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log file in Notepad.

Scrolling down I found the section below. This showed that the web server wasn't starting.

Code:
30/03/2005 13:43:55.812    VERBOSE    [4]    getValue: /settings/WebServerPort : 7647
30/03/2005 13:43:55.812    VERBOSE    [4]    About to check web assemblies...
30/03/2005 13:43:55.812    VERBOSE    [4]    Error copy web assemblies: The file "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\web\bin\GBPVRRecordingService.exe" already exists.
30/03/2005 13:43:55.812    INFO    [4]    Start GB-PVR web on: 7647
30/03/2005 13:43:56.031    ERROR    [4]    Error starting webserver: Could not load type b0 from assembly GBPVRRecordingService, Version=1.0.1870.34657, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null.

To fix the problem, I simply deleted GBPVRRecordingService.exe from the \gbpvr\web\bin\ folder, then restarted the Recording service App by right clicking on it and selecting Restart Recording Service.

My web access then works perfectly. I think this problem happened because I installed on top of an old installation, rather than doing a clean install.

Hope that helps,

Simon

Thanks, Simon. That did it. And I too am guilty of not uninstalling an earlier version.
