I have two PCs running GBPVR. The web scheduler has been working fine on one for quite some time and I'd like to be able to acess it on both. It's been a while since I set it up though and I'm having some trouble figuring out how to get it going. I can't just use the same port for both of them I'm assuming but how do you determine what to enter for the server port in the GBPVR config?

Are you wanting to access both of them from outside your home network? If not then each GB-PVR PC will have it's own I.P address so the port is irrelevant.

Currently just over the home network. It allows me to access these things on my UMPC and not have to turn on any TVs. However, I may want to be able to access them at some later point from outside the home using the same method. I tried both a separate and the same port on the new one and either way I'm not able to access it. The other one still works though.

Is there a firewall on the new one?

Are you using DHCP or a fixed IP address for each PC? If you are using DHCP, it's possible that the IP address for the 2nd PC has changed so that you're now telling the browser to look for GB-PVR at an incorrect IP address. The port number can be the same on multiple PC's as your browser only looks for the port number on the specific system that responds to the IP address that you're using.

192.168.1.100:7647 looks for port 7647 on one system while 192.168.1.101:7647 would look for port 7647 on a different system. The port numbers are the same but the IP addresses are different. Also think of ports like this, nearly every web server on the internet has port 80 open, but only the one that is at the address that you specify in your browser will respond to your request.

If you have web access enabled in config, browse to the correct IP address, and don't have a firewall blocking access, then you should see the GB-PVR web page show up.

Somehow Windows Firewall had gotten turned back on. That took care of it. I can access it now. So, on the port. If I'm accessing it from outside the house that should matter though right? Wouldn't you put in the IP address of your cable modem then and not of the PC? So still where do you get that port number? Is it just any random number you want or is there a specific place to look (like my router admin page or something) to find that? Or would it not matter at all and I should just put in the first IP separated by a colon and then the secnd (PC IP) and it will find it.

For outside access you'll need to setup port forwarding on your modem/router. In here you can specifcy which ports to forward on to which IP/port in your LAN.

There'll just be one IP that is shown to the internet. Lets pretend 100.1.1.20 is the IP your modem shows to the world

Then (for example) you can forward port 3100 to pc1:7674 and port 3200 to pc1:7674

So from the internet 100.1.1.20:3100 would show the GB-PVR web admin for PC1, while 100.1.1.20:3200 would show PC2's web admin.

Shouldn't that read as:
