Hi,

I haven't moved over to pvrx yet, and it's because of a few issues. One of them is fixed by Movie Wiz and perhaps by the return of Reven, but another is the DVD ripper plugin. It looks like Sub made the plugin as an example for developers so it's low on his priority list.

One of the problems is that it doesn't rip to ISO mode and it doesn't rip to the proper directory. I think there's a "\" missing in one of the strings as the directory structure is not created properly.

Thanks,
Jam.z

I will take a look at it, as it would be a useful plugin for me too. The wiki says unknown user and its unsupported, are you sure this is Sub's?

If anyone is looking at this or would prefer I didn't touch this plugin please speak up. As I work in vb.net I will convert to VB then fix, so a little time is required.

Cheers

the one in the wiki is the original one, which works perfectly with the gbpvr.exe. Sub posted his version here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...dvd+ripper

Thanks for looking into it.

FYI

I have managed to convert to VB.net and have now fixed the directory issue, still need to look at the iso issue as it seems to always give the vob files, this will mean I need to play with dvddecrypt a bit to see what arguments it needs to do the job properly.

For my needs I would like a way of getting a ripped DVD into a Xvid or Divx then moved to a finally movies directory so I will look at adding that later.

Strangely enough I think this could all be achieved using GameZone and the XtraEmulator feature, but what the heck seems like a simple enough plugin that should have its own space to grow to me.

I have only performed basic testing, so please try it out and see if it works for you, let me know of anything not working. if it all works I will update the Wiki and put it back as a supported plugin.

didn't work for me...tried to rip to iso and it lost a "\" after the chosen directory so it didn't go into the right directory.

It went into file mode as well....

can you look in your pvrx2.exe.log and send me the line you have similar to:

DVDRipper: /MODE ISOREAD /START /CLOSE /OVERWRITE YES /DEST H:\DVD-RIP\[DISC_LABEL]\[DISC_LABEL]

I selected base directory as DVD RIP and target as ISO

Let me know what you are selecting to get the issue as well as your log line

If you don't see a line similar to this then you must have another copy of DVDripper in a directory, as I added this line when debuging.

Thanks

oops sorry, my mistake...I just changed the old dvdripper to dvdripper.dllx and it still found it. It seems to work now for iso. Thanks a lot.

Now, if you really want to start making things interesting, you can make a new entry where you can choose a specific title from a list of valid titles with their durations and rip that to a single vob. Then choose a audio stream to match.

Once you get that done, it's short step to then automatically converting the file....although this is very well taken care of by zprocess already!!

Thanks a million...soon, I'll make that long awaited move to upgrade.

Glad its working for you.

As for any further enhancements I have seen videoarchive and does much of what I need so I will upload this fixed version of the dll to the wiki complete with the vb source so others can have a play if they are so inspired.

Cheers
