I have 1.33Ghz 512mb system with nothing on it but GBPVR.

It is very slow in responding when using config.
Say I change something the capture menu it will 5-8min to close the window.

It take 10-20sec to go from the main menu to the tv guide.
If I select a channel in the 500's PPV on dish it can take 10min for the data to show up.

It records fine, I don't not play back on it. I use Dlink 510 appliance.

Also when the channels line up changes anything that changed says "no data available" my *.db3 is 28megs.
I have tried to disable as many channels as posible. But deleting them and/or disabling the so slow with 500+ channels in the line up.
I have reduced the number of line up channels at schedule direct to the min set, but I see no change.

My CPU is not pegged - it mostly around 20-30% utilized.

Thanks
Mindy

I'm guessing its something to do with having a large number of channels combined with your low CPU speed and low amount of RAM. Out of curiosity, what CPU do you have? Is is a Celeron, Pentium 3, Duron, Athlon, Via C7?

I'd delete your gbpvr.db3 file, then log into the Schedules Direct service and edit your lineup (on the Schedules Direct website), to disable channels at that end (rather than in the Config app), then fire up the config app and recreate your capture source, and set it to only download a few days of listings instead of 14 or so.

When the app first starts, it loads the listings in the background. For most people this is nearly instant, but if you have a large number channels and/or large number of days, combined with under-resourced machine then this can a lot longer. For example, on my machine, with 40ish channels and 7 days of listings, it loads about 9800 listings when the app starts. If you had about 300 channels, and 14 days of listings, the app would have to load about 147000 listings... significantly more. On a fast machine with plenty of ram, even that would ok, but I dont think it would be on your machine.
