Got a Hauppauge Nova t 500 HD. Both tuners are defined to gbpvr and have an epg. But if I try to record two channels at the same time from the guide gbpvr complains when I try the second program about there being a conflict and I have to cancel one.

But interestingly I have a pvr250 also in the system (again its own egp) and if I have a DVB-T recording scheduled I can record something on the PVR250.

Finally if I have a program scheduled on DVB-T via the epg I can schedule a manual recording on a DVB-T channel at an overlapping time and it accepts it and records.

Is the way it should work? Shouldn't gbpvr look down the tuners and allow two programs at the same time?

Thanks

I have the nova t 500 and it works fine. When you defined them in the capture source window, did you assign unique ids to them? One is #1 and the other #2?

They are both defined as #1 - will try your suggestion and report back

[edit] - no that didn't work. Have one defined as #1 and DVB-T 500 HD (1) and the other as #2 etc. Still indicates a conflict when I try to record two channels at the same time from the guide but as noted I can have one from the guide and the other as manual and it's accepted and works

Are you sure you mapped the channels on both tuners?

I sounds like GBPVR doesnt know that the cannels you are trying to record are available on both Nova T's

I have mapped the channels on both instances of the tuner. Interestingly when I changed the device # from #1 to #2 and did map channel, gbpvr said the BDA device didn't exist! Have to set both devices to #1. Strange though that I can record one channel via the guide and the other manually and it works, but I can't do two channel via the egp

That would make me think you have the names slightly different or not mapped the same. You have them right with both being the same device number with the driver name being different (1) and (2) or they wouldn't both record manually.

For this device you need to have one capture source set to "Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (1)" with device #1, the other set to "Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (2)" with device #1. Is this how you have it set? If so, try scheduling two recordings then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

If you'd accidentally set both capture source to "Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (1)", then it'd give you these conflict messages you've described.

Not sure what you're saying here. You mean I should have both devices with the same name? At the moment they are named as DVB-T and DVB-T 2 with the device chosen from the list as Nova T-500 DVB-T(1) and the second as Nova T-500 DVB-T(2).

Tried that (so now both tuners have the same name) and still conflicts when recording from the epg

No.

I said it needs be setup as two capture source. One set to "Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (1)" with device #1, the other set to "Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (2)" with device #1.

When you have it set this way, and its still not working, then try scheduling two recordings then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

I think the messages got out of sync since I was replying martint123 before your post arrived Sad

I have as you said two capture sources but both have the same name (DVB-T). One uses device Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (1) and is device #1 and the other uses device Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (2) and is also device #1.

I can schedule one recording fine from the epg but when I try the second gbpvr issues the conflict error message. If I try to schedule the second recording from the browser just get Recording has Failed message. Not sure it's relevant but both recordings I am trying to do are now - not in the future.

Couldn't see any sign of the conflict error message in the logs, just the start of the recording of the first programme so am uploading all the logs so at least you have all the information

Thanks
