I am trying to get GB-PVR to work with my Twinhan 1020a on XP MCE 2005. I have successfully had this card work with several DVB-S programs (MyTheatre, DVBDream, etc.).

However, when I try to configure the card with GB-PVR and do a channel scan, I get the "unable to start BDA..." error. I have the most recent BDA drivers installed.

A couple of possibilities I have considered:
1. MCE is somehow using the card in the background and therefore not releasing it for GB-PVR to use (though I can get other DVB-S programs to use it).
2. I need to do MCE rollup #2 (I hesitate to do this, as it creates issues with MCE if I want to do Twinhan + MCE).
3. I have not been able to pull channels via "Update EPG", though I assumed GBPVR would have to recognize the card before doing this. If this is the culprit, could someone point me to troubleshooting tips?

Thanks,

JR

SETUP
GBPVR 1.2.13
Windows XP MCE 2005 (have not installed rollup #2)
Duo Core Intel 3ghz
VisionPlus / Twinhan 1020a w/ most recent BDA drivers

Edit: I have checked out an earlier thread from today (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37315) but I don't seem to even get this far....

Its most likely a case of Twinhan changing the driver names yet again, and they no longer match the names defined in bda.ini.

If you run filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log, then I'll check.

Thanks.

I ended up doing a fresh install of Windows XP (sans MCE) as I was having other problems, too. Now it looks like I am able to scan channels a-ok. However, I am sorry I don't have log files for you to diagnose the earlier problem, as it seems to be one that others have also run up against...

One other quick question: does GB-PVR work better with BDA or WDM drivers?

I believe GBPVR will only work using BDA drivers.

Correct, BDA only.

You maybe had the WDM drivers installed before.

I switched to BDA drivers and that helped.

FYI: I found that if I edit any of the transponder files and mess up the format (i.e. forgetting to renumber the transponders correctly if I delete some ;-) ) GBPVR throws the "unable to start BDA..." error.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not surprised...

Not surprised about the error or that I messed the files up ;-)

Hello,

I bought VP1020A device but can not install the driver. I've been trying it for 3 days. Now I wanted to try DBA driver but could not find it. Wherer can I download the latest DBA driver for Vision Plus?
