gbpvr with Directv setup box

I have successfully configured gbpvr with WinTV-PVR USB2. The WinTV-PVR USB2 also came with an IR blaster and remote control. My question are:

1) How do I configure the remote to change my Directv setup box so it is in syn with my gbpvr?
2) Do I have to use alternate software like HIP?

I am running Win XP pro with SP2. Please provide some guidance what should be my next step. Thank you in advance.

Is it the MCE remote and receiver? If so, then you'll need to use eitehr IRServerSuite or HIP to control the IR Blaster.

Thanks sub for the reply. According to the box for wintv-pvr USB2 it is
Media center remote control transmitter and receiver (USB port required). Is that the same as you mentioned MCE remote and receiver?
