Hi there,

I'm in the UK, using a Hauppauge HVR-3000 on Windows XP with the latest version of GB-PVR.

Most of my DVB-S channels are just fine but a handful of them have very high pitched and choppy audio (like they've all inhaled helium and their mikes are cutting out 3/4 times a second.

The main one I'd like to fix if possible is CNN. But it happens on others too - Euronews, Wedding channel etc.

I thought these were free to air, but perhaps theiy're not and it's an encryption artefact?

Anyone come across this before?

WHile I'm here, a couple of channels aren't showing up on my scan - World Movies and Teachers' TV. which is a shame as I'm a teacher!

cheers

Steve

A couple of audio decoders have been known to cause this mickey mouse audio, due to not liking the audio bitrate on those channels. Its a simple fix though - change audio decoders.

I've had it on CNN and after a complete (inc OS) reinstall it went away - both times using AC3Filter.... When it wasn't working I never found a way of fixing it with that particular decoder.

I've seen the same thing with CNN captures from Europe, and it definitely went away when I switch decoders. The problem decoder my specific case was an old version of the Mainconcept audio decoder distributed by Hauppauge, but I know there is a couple of other decoders with the same problem.
