I am using GBPVR with a twinhan 1020a and a DP Twin lnb. I have had some trouble picking up channels on birds 110 and 119. I have tweaked the following settings:

1.BDA Advanced window: checked Ignore PMT CRC errors during scan and "Parse DishNetwork..."

2. In the config file, tweaked the following settings:
BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds: between 1 and 5
" " WaitSeconds: between 10 and 60
Set not to ignore audio and hidden channels.

Does someone have settings that have worked particularly well for them? Much appreciated.

How many channels are you getting? You should compare channel reception with a dedicated DVB app like DVB dream or MT to verify your hardware and sat reception quality. I don't think there are any GBPVR specific settings which will give you extra channels. Most important is to have your transponder ini files correct. You should be able to pull in over 800 channels from DN 119/110. Note you can not get HD channels on DN with this setup (but you can on BEV).

On DVBDream I pull in close to 500 video channels. I probably pull in less than a fifth of that on GBPVR, though at one point I did pull in more but had to do a reinstall due to other problems on my computer.

I have used the default ini files that come with GBPVR and have tried the ini files from DVBDream, but with little difference. I also used the ini file info you listed in our earlier post, and that made little difference.

For the DP Twin you definitely need to use ALL vertical transponder values in your INI files like I posted previously. Make sure you have DISqEC A for 119 and B for 110. Also make sure you have LOF1:11250 SW:0 and LOF2:11250 in the config gui. I would also try alternating between "0" and "2" for the <BDATwinhanSwitchMethod> in the config.xml to see which gives you better results ("0" works for me). Leave the other config.xml values to default. TBH though, I think your ini files are mucked if you're only scanning 100 or so channels. You may have some slight reception issues if DVB Dream isn't giving you a full channel line-up either.

With DVBDream, I used the default ini files for 110 and 119 which included both horizontal and vertical transponders. I was able to get the majority, if not all, of the channels. Is the need to use only vertical transponders something specific to GBPVR?

Not specific to GBPVR, more specific to your DP Twin. You are missing about half the available channels in DVB Dream by not using the correct ini files. Same is true for GBPVR if you do not use the DP Twin specific transponder ini files.

There may be some DVB apps which will automatically convert the standard ini files to all vertical for your DP Twin/Quad(I heard MyTheatre does?), but I know for a fact currently with DVB Dream and GBPVR you have to use the DP Twin custom ini files to get ALL the channels. The attached are for BEV but will work perfect for DN - just remember DN119 = BEV91 and DN110 = BEV82.

Cool, thanks. I'm still trying things out, so I will update when I have solid results.

A side question: when you do scanning, do you get Strength and Quality readings of '0'? I always do, though I still am picking up a fair number of channels.

I generally ignore the Strength and Quality readings, not sure what they read.

Well, I tried using the all vertical transponder list (thanks for the files) and I tried different settings in the config file, and all to no luck. No problems with DVBDream where I get close to 600 channels, but only 150 - 200 in gbpvr. Strange...

I'm bit short on time to give you a detailed description at the moment, but the best thing to do would be to focus on one specific transponder (ie one specific freq/polarity/symbolrate). Try scanning that specific frequency in both DVBDream and GBPVR, then post the config logs with some information about the transponder freq etc, and the channels that DVBDream found but GB-PVR didnt.

Also try running DebugView (google for it) to see if there are any messages relating to tuning from both applications.
