I have brought this up before, and I have perused other postings, but without any finality. So, here we go again.

Is the HVR2200 useless for analogue recordings due to the hopeless timeline it creates? My last hour recording, for example, shows as being 4 min long in PVRX2 and it crashes the PCH on playback requiring a power off to get it restarted.

Just as well I left one PVR150 in my machine - it is now elevated to the top of the source list!

The attachment at 15:18:13:400 shows the PCH crash FWIW.
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

I think that crash is because of a commercial skip at the beginning of the file. Rename the edl and see how it plays.

Martin.

I cant say I've seen this timeline problem myself with the HVR2200,. Its probably like the PVR150 timestamp problem though, were only some users would see it.

If you can supply a download link to a 10 minute or so recording that shows the problem, I'll supply it to Hauppauge to get them to take a look.

I still get this problem with my HVR2200. I've looked at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14006 (for the PVR150) and I haven't figured out, do those same registry settings apply to an hvr2200? (I didn't spot mention of the hvr2200 in there.) Also, the drivers you posted Sub are from 2006.... so where are we with this one?

Those same setting are unlikely to do anything on an HVR2200.

That specific bug only related to the PVR150, so this will be something else (even if similar). As mentioned above, if you can supply a download link to a 10 minute or so recording that shows the problem, I'll supply it to Hauppauge to get them to take a look.

Progress report. Sub, I can supply a 10 min segment that shows the problem but I am also testing other things first.

Thanks to Martin's prompt I have stopped comskip from operating.

I also added the registry settings even though this surely is a long shot. Vista machine and no reboot.

Since then I have recorded five shows that, on the face of it, all look good. They play fine on the PCH, as well (no comskip skips I guess).

More research following!

I can also supply my recording Sub. But I probably cannot find enough web space or ftp server for a hefty .ts file ... unless you can suggest a temporary dumping ground. Or maybe I could set up a gmail account (5GB space ;-) ) or send a dvd to your PO Box. What do you generally prefer?

Sorry, I'm only really interested in a analog recording. Any digital .ts files is only going to contain an exact duplicate of the streams the broadcaster supplies, and would be identical regardless of what device you used to capture it (HVR2200, Nova-T, HVR1300 etc). If the transport stream is broken in any way, this is likely a signal reception problem. Its more likely that your .ts problems are playback issues rather than recording issues.

If you have a short 10 minute analog recording that shows the problem, and can make it available on a website, or send it on a CD/DVD to me, then I'll supply it to Hauppauge
