Everything seems to work except streaming.

I have the latest VLC installed and have set it up correctly in the web access config.

When I click "Stream Now", the mpeg is created on the server end but then trying to view that stream through port 7648 gives errors as if nothing is being served. For example, I get the error "VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://localhost:7648'" when attempting to view the stream through VLC on the machine gb-pvr is installed. It is the same from any machine though.

Stopping the stream deletes the files as expected.

The log from the statistics tab shows this for a failed streaming session.
The other logs included.

The only thing that isn't really default here is that windows xp, gb-pvr, and vlc (and most everything else) is installed on D: instead of C:

Any suggestions?

Why are you using vlc rather than pvrx2 on the second machine?

Perhaps I am not understanding what you are asking but the idea is to be able to stream video to a linux machine so using pvrx2 as a client isn't an option to my knowledge. I use pvrx2 when i am using the machine with the tuner in it.

I am hoping to get the streaming option through the EWA working so I can view a channel from any machine (ie: laptop in another room/outside).

Hello,

I am having similiar streaming issues with EWA even after entering the appropriate port forwarding parameters in my router admin setup. As far as being able to login in remotely to access the TV guide, manage recorded programs, etc. everything is working perfectly; however, I can not access any recorded programs remotely from outside my home network.

No matter the port I designate as my streaming port canyouseeme.org tells me that it is blocked. But when I select a port for EWA login access only canyouseeme.org says that port is open. I setup the EWA admin port forwarding (tried 7647 & 8100). No problems. For streaming purposes I portforwarded 7648 in combination with 7647 (7648 is blocked according to canyouseeme.org0: I tried the combination of 8100 & 8101(streaming) (8101 is blocked AS WELL according to canyouseeme.org).

Does anyone have any insight as to why when it comes to portforwarding a streaming port I run into roadblock no matter which port number I chose?

I've run into the same problem. web admin serves off port 7647 and I set VLC streaming to serve on 7648. No Dice. I initially tested this issue internally will all firewalls off... I can "Play program" but streaming fails. I setup TCPview on the GBPVR server to monitor which ports are openining in relation to the VLC instance being launched. 3 TCP ports 8080,2624,2625 open. VLC acts as though EWA is not passing the 7648 port parameter to the server. The VLC version I'm using is 0.9.2. Oddly enough as per "serps" post I'm also runnig of off D:.

Appears to be a 9.2 thing....I upgraded to VLC 9.2 from 8.6f last week....and streaming was working....now it is not.

Downgraded server and client to 8.6f again and streaming works again.....

Not sure what changed in VLC....I'll have to investigate.
