Hi

I'm trying to get the DVB-T Radio plugin working on GBPVR version 1.2.13 running on Win2K.
The service installs but then won't start, the error message saying it didn't respond in a timely manner.

I don't know whether this could be connected but I've been unable to register the lame.ax directshow decoder too. I can see it in WINNT\system32 but when I try to use the batch file or regsvr32 to register it I get the message that the specified module could not be found.

I haven't attached any logs as I'm not sure which ones would be useful at this stage but any help would be gratefully received.

Edit: I've had a look in the Windows Event viewer and there is a relevant error entry, this is what it says:
"Service cannot be started. The service process could not connect to the service controller "

Thanks in advance

Chris

Just tried again making sure ZoneAlarm was turned off and still the same thing but this time nothing came up in the Event Log.
I attach the service logs.

Cheers

Unfortunately the logs simply show the service falling at the first hurdle so I don't have much to go on. At the point of failure, it hasn't got as far as trying to use the Lame encoder so we can count that out. It also isn't trying to do anything that could be affected by a firewall but you already found that out by switching zonealarm off.

I have to admit I've never tested this on W2K although there shouldn't be anything in the code which would prevent it from working.

You could try a couple of things - assuming the service is set to logon as LocalSystem, you could try setting the 'Allow service to interact with desktop' option. If that doesn't help, set the service to logon using a known Administrator username/password.

Is it possible to get hold of an earlier version which uses Dvbtr.exe process rather than the service? I'd really like to get this working as I'm planning to get rid of my only other source of radio!

Cheers

Hi Brian

I've now got WinXP installed and am getting a bit further.
With the latest version installed the service now starts but when I scan for channels it doesn't find anything.

I attach logs. If you can help it would be appreciated.

Do you have your capture card set to 'All Regions' in the Config app? There's a bug in the code which won't handle this correctly and you need to specify the Country and Region options for it to work correctly.

I did try setting up the regional settings after reading another thread, but that didn't help.

Did you restart the DVB-T Radio Service after changing the regional settings? I can't remember off hand but I think it only reads that info when the service starts up.
