This is also a good opportunity to get rid of the bloated Adobe Reader and try another reader, like Foxit (free).

Somewhere along the line Adobe's constant pestering & inexplicably huge "Reader" hacked me off enough to uninstall it from all my machines and replace it with Foxit.

So far, over a year now running on Foxit & have yet to have a PDF document reading problem - never any popups asking for constant update, no more incredibly long load times for a simple reader. Life is good!

I attempted to do the web building thing 10 years ago and there's not a creative bone in my body. I now pay people to do my office web site. However, there's lots of templates out there that make things easy. Still, I suck at it!

Yeah, now that you mention it, the current front page looks suspiciously like my own. ;->

With some irony (I hope) the syndicated ad on the wiki when I just looked said "Build your website in minutes" 30 day free trial.

Foxit is a great choice and one I simply forgot the name of. I am off to format and install windows on this machine as I have been unable to 100% determine the trojan is off this computer.

long searches on google have a few websites suggesting the easiest action is to install windows again.

Since we have no idea the intention of the abuser we have to assume it is to install adware and an ad-server and more harmful would be to steal credit card and password info which to me signals the cumbersome "Format + install XP and SP3 and all my drivers office software VPN network and programs to help me through each work day...

It's going to be a long night and I work in the morning. This infection proves that even using Firefox 2.0 and even 3.0 that you are still vulnerable at any website you visit good or bad.

@sub - I am very sad to hear the front page had to be removed. Hopefully all the info is saved so that you can rebuild using web templates and be back up in the shortest possible time.

I can take a stab at the front page tomorrow (with the help of a friend who is a little more creative than I am). Anything particular that you want?

Cheers. I was thinking a two page web site. Front page + requirements page, both with link to forums and wiki. 'download' link I'd probably update to point to the current release announcement thread.

I have zero graphic design skills, and my web pages look like they're designed by my 4 year old.

Easy enough. I'll do it in PHP and use variables to make updating easy.

Same here. I can make web pages work on the back end but my friend is much better at making them look good. You can see some of his work at http://www.creativechrystals.com/allp.php

My wife is also a graphic designer but my friend is into computers and audio/video so he'd be more enthusiastic Wink
