Problems loading dongle.mvpmc-20080726.bin

Whenever I try to load dongle.mvpmc-20080726.bin it appears to hang, but the logs show many many retries. I can load dongle.mvpmc-20080405.bin with no problems.

Have downloaded again and unzipped, tried with and without a dongle.bin.config, removed the share and rebooted machines and routers, all with no luck.

From the logs I see that for some reason the dongle isn't loading in the thirty seconds or so that it has before it automatically reloads. I can't explain why this is happening though but it is something about your network.

OK, thanks for that. I will investigate the NIC drivers. No firewalls involved with the gbpvr server so it does not leave much. Any ideas on why the previous release will load with no problems? They appear to be about the same file size, but the logs for the previous version do not show the retrys. Or are the retries at the point that it should have loaded?

Anyone else have this sort of problem?

Check to be certain that firewall built-in to Windows didn't magically turn itself back on. Many of us have been burned when a Windows Update decides to enable the firewall even though it had previously been manually turned off.
