I have a previously working setup... NPVR version 2.6.2 with PCH-110. I had some router/DSL issues that caused me to have to reset some of those settings. After getting my DSL service back up and running through the router, I find I can no longer start NPVR through the PCH. What happens is I get to the Start screen (with the 4 icons), scroll over to the right-most icon, then press Enter. I then get a selector box with N-PVR.html which I select and press Enter. I then get a white dialog where I highlight N-PVR and press Enter. Normally this will get me to the NPVR menu. But now I'm getting a white screen that says

mkdir: cannot create director

I haven't had to touch the configuration in several years... not sure where to look first. Can anyone please provide some direction?

Hard to tell from that, the next line in the debug log would be trying to connect the host PC's web server.

Ok that's better. Did your host IP change? If so you have to edit NPVR.CGI with a linux editor (not notepad) to change the IP on the mount line.

I don't think so, but possibly. Is the "host" the router, or the PC on which NPVR is running?

Also, I'm running Windows 7 and would normally use notepad for editing these types of files... any suggestions for an acceptable editor to use?

The PC's IP. There are a few suggestions on which allow you to save in linux format, Notepad+ is one of the editors I use.

I found the IP address of my PC was different than what was in NPVR.CGI. Changed the file and I believe I'm back in business.

Thank you very much for your help!

Once again I'm having trouble starting NPVR on my Popcorn Hour. I entered the forum to find my thread still on the first page, so I figured I'd add to it.

This time, I've replaced my router. I have it set up and working with the internet. I edited NPVR.CGI and entered the correct PC IP address as instructed previously above. When I try to start NPVR, I get the "Start" screen with the 4 icons, select the right-most icon, select N-PVR.html, select N-PVR from the popup menu (all as before)... then the screen goes black for a moment (as it always does), only instead of the NPVR menu appearing, the Popcorn Hour seems to reboot and return me to the "Start" screen.

Any idea what I'm missing?

You really should set a static ip for your host. Logs and the nmtcheck output are needed.
