I have an HDHR which obviously has 2 tuners.
0 is connected to ATSC OTA
1 is connected to cable/clear QAM

I am trying to do a seasonal recording of 2 different shows on 2 different channels that overlap, but I am getting conflicts in my pending recordings.

When searching the guide for the shows, the shows that are available on both tuners at the same time show up twice in the search list. I assume this is a good thing (but it would be nice if there was some indication of which tuner was which selection).

I have tried picking the first listing for 1 show, and the second listing for the other show, but I'm still getting a conflict.

The channel guide only shows 1 of the available mapped channels. ie, if I have an ABCDT on both tuners, only 1 listing shows up in the channel guide.

Why isn't the seasonal scheduler able to see that there are 2 tuners available and resolve the conflict?

Am I doing this wrong in the mapping part of things? If I have 2 duplicate channels, should I be naming the second one something slightly different?

Season recordings are associated with a channel. GB-PVR only treats channels as the same channel if they have an identical name. In this case they're only listed once in the TV Guide, and you'd only see the results once in the Search Guide screen.

I don't quite understand...Is the resolution to the issue to slightly rename the channels?

ie,
have an ABCDT00 for tuner 0 and ABCDT01 for tuner 1?

If you have "ABCDT" available on two capture sources, then it should be able to use either of those capture sources to do a recording on that channel. If this is your setup, but it isnt working for you, you might need to reproduce the problem by scheduling some new recordings then post the pvrx2.exe.log so I can take a look.

If you have one capture source with "ABC" and the capture source with "ABCDT", then only one of the capture sources would be able to programs off ABCDT, even if they're just renamed versions of the same channel.

As I understand it ...

You should ensure that channels have exactly the same name on each tuner if you do not care which channel is used.

So, if you have tuner T1 and tuner T2 and channels CA CB CC CD with CA CB and CC on T1 and CB CC and CD on T2 you should see CB and CC only once in the Guide and GBPVR might record any shows on CB or CC using T1 or T2.

Good Luck

Yes that's exactly what I have...But I think I described my original problem incorrectly....

With the two HDHR tuners, I have stations ABCDT and CBSDT on both tuners available. When I search for the overlapping shows, I'm seeing the shows show up twice with the same time and channel, which I am assuming is normal.

When I try and record show A at 7pm on ABCDT and show B at 7:30PM on CBSDT, on the same day, one of the shows is coming up as a conflict, like the scheduler is not able to figure out that there are two tuners, even though the guide search has seemed to be able to.

I'm fairly sure you should only see it listed once.

Its listed in the TV Guide once isnt it? Assuming so, do each right arrow press in the TV Guide result in the next show being highlighted? In the past when users have had duplicate listings on one channel, they've found it takes two presses of the arrow key to move to the next show.

Yes, it's listed in the TV Guide once. Moving up down left right only takes one key press.

The shows are listed twice in the searches. I just noticed though, that one show comes up as ABC and the listing comes up as ABCDT. I'm not sure why that it is though, as I have them mapped as ABCDT in both tuners, and the ABC version is not mapped or enabled.

Hit "Update EPG" in one of the capture sources in Config. Then zip and post the config*.log files when it is completed.

This is really really weird....

I'm trying to record Grey's Anatomy at 8pm. I search the guide and it lists 4 listings, 2 for one night, and 2 for the next week, one listing for each tuner.

When clicking on the 4 options with the mouse, none of the information changes. When clicking on the top option, the using the up/down arrows to scroll through, the information changes from KSTP to KSTPDT between the 4 shows. As if one tuner is known and KSTP and the other is KSTPDT. But why don't I get this information change when using the mouse? The highlighted selection is changing, so I know the mouse click was registered.

The other odd behavior I see is that in the search window options, the show time correctly shows up as 8pm-9pm. But when I view the conflicted recording in pending shows, it says the scheduled time is 6:30pm-9:30pm.
