Great release, Sub! I've tested the ability to record multiple channels from the same multiplex with the same digital card and it works great. Just one litle problem: only the first recording uses the Multidec plugin to decrypt. I know there's a technical reason for that, but there used to be an option "record out of process" in config. Is something like that still possible? Or any chance for that in the near future? I know I can decrypt after recording with another tool (thanks to this release), but online decrypting would be very nice.

Unfortunately with all the different possibilities, the rquirements start to conflict with each other. Multi-record and multidec dont really work with each other. I did add some extra info to make sure offline decrypting is possible to help a little. If that doesnt meet your needs, you can still run it as you have in the past by setting the following in config.xml.

<BDAEnableMultiRecord>false</BDAEnableMultiRecord>
<BDARecordOutOfProcess>true</BDARecordOutOfProcess>

I was meaning to post to you about this as well sub. Is there a way to say "I want to multi record - but not this capture source??"

Or is that a bit too specific?

Sorry, no there isnt. Its either enabled or disabled. I do hope to add something like this in future though.

It worth noting our DVB-C setup is kind of unique though - a lot of user will have a mixture of unencrypted and encrypted channels, where ours are all encrypted, so on a capture source level might still be annoying for a lot of users.

Could I put in the request that you allow a capture source to have BDA Multi REcord turned off??

And it's a setting stored with the capture source in the db? - I'd make the setting "on" by default, or hidden, and and tcl customers can access the DB directly to turn it off??

The only reason I ask for it this way is that I seem to get empty recordings, rather than encrypted recordings.

Chris

You can decrypt after recording ????????????????
That would solve my problem with the mdapifilter not being released by gbpvrrecording service.

Just exactly how do you get to record so that you can decrypt later ?

I am trying to record for offiline decrypting.

I assume I need to turn off multidec support for this to work.

It just records a zero length file.

Am I doing something wrong ?

I have to answer myself. You need to set "Full Transport Stream" as demuxer.
