Hi

I do not understand it completely:confused:

If for example I have an iso called "michael.iso" in my video-folder, I also have a file called "michael.iso.jpg" as the cover-art. what do I need besides the iso-file now in the new version?

/Michael

I haven't played with an iso, but I did play with DVD files on the hard drive,

Here's an example using your file name:

I had the directory of Michael which contained the audio_ts and video_ts files. I put an image file named Michael.jpg in the Michael directory and that let the new skin see the art. You can also name that file folder.jpg.

For the meta data I cut and pasted Sub's example xml code into notepad, then corrected the text within the code to reflect the proper info, then saved it as Michael.xml (remember to use the save as all file option, otherwise notepad will save it as a text file). This let the new skin see the accompanying text.

Hope that helps!

I built a little tool (WizMetadataGrabber) to generate the metadata files and cover art. It works against directories and generates a file for each movie (ie filename.xml and filename.jpg).

Eventually, I may enhance to actually push the metadata into the video file, but right now, it only generates the xml file.

If folks find it useful, I'll post under the WizUtilities on the Wiki.

Note: it looks up the info on IMDB and TheTvDb.com based on the filename.

Sounds great. I'll try it when I'm back.

Great tool.

I use the built in encoder feature in gbpvr to auto encode everything and it deletes the mpg files but unfortunately it does not transfer the original meta to the avi's so all my files have no metadata so this is really awesome.

btw, does this tool use the ignore brackets?
Most movie files have zero results... this is how my files are named

Cross Bronx (2004)(Nudity)(3.13 stars)_20081104_22200000.avi
Starship Troopers 3 Marauder (2008)(Violence)(2.5stars)_20081029_00000200.avi
Tales From the Crypt Presents Demon Knight (1995)(Language)(3.13 stars)_20081030_20002140.avi

Just discovered the slick skin today so checking it out. pretty darn cool!

I have not beefed up the logic in how it determines the titles, but I have code that does this in MovieWiz. Expect a new version tonight (US PST), that will include a smarter title parser.

I will also eventually add the ability for the user to manually enter the title/episode in order to get more accurate hits on the lookup.

New version of WizMetadataGrabber.

Overview:
  • Scans hard-drive for video files and creates metadata (.xml file) and cover art (.jpg) for each file if found.
  • Will either retrieve data from:
    • TheTvDb.com for Series/Episodes recordings
    • IMDB.com for other recordings
    • GBPVR database if exists and not found on either of above sources.
It now checks the GBPVR db to see if the recording entry exists in order to get Title and Episode for internet lookups (as well as other metadata if not found).

If not found in db, there is increased logic to calculate the title and episode from the filename.

If it has an Episode, it looks up entry on TheTvDb and saves metadata.

If it does not find on TheTvDb (or does not have an episode), it looks up on IMDB and saves metadata.

If not found on either site, it will default to data found in db.

NOTE: You will need to get the new WizDLLs (a fix in this version is neccessary) and can be found here (specifically WizUiHelper.DLL v1.0.18.1).
