greetings!
A lot of friends of mine over @ BYOPVR are avid followers of GBPVR, and my patience with MCE2005 has worn thin.

Got a new build, Asus M2NE, 2 gigs RAM ATI X800XL connected via DVI, and ATI HD Wonder. Nvidia Purevideo decoder. GBPVR v 1.213
Originally was going to stay with MCE, installed with all updates, latest ATI drivers for video card and tuner. Grew generally disenchanted with MCE, limited configureabilty and glitches.

Bought another HDD removed original, and installed XP pro on new drive, all updates, and the runtime and other update listed as requsite.
After insalling v1.213 and attempted configuration, after checking "show only devices installed" the HD Wonder pops in, leading me to assume that the tuner is installed correctly. At channel scan completion I am informed that no channels were found.
What is strange(to me)is when I reinstall the MCE HDD, MCE finds the channels. ( identical video and tuner drivers installed on both HDD)
I'm sure I have omitted something, but it eludes me, and now I am compelled to apologize for this blatent attempt to lure you into my personal quagmire.Big Grin

I am also compelled to comment on the high level of support you provide. Most impressive.Cool
I have attached the logs as requested,( I think) although I am somewhat reluctant to... just because they reviel my bumbling attempts to wield your software.

Thank you for your time and any help.

I cant see an obvious cause in the logs, but it might be worth trying the current v1.3.7 release. It changes a couple of things that couple help, and also logs an extra bit of info that might help.

Thank you Sir!
I will give that a shot. I intend to use this software, and will, even if involves the purchase of a Haup' tuner.
Thx again SubCool

Ah sorry, thinking a long way back, I seem to remember this is device that has never worked with GB-PVR. GB-PVR treats all devices the same, but there is something quirky about this device that hasnt liked how GB-PVR does things.

I'm not really sure what to suggest for you. I dont know of any work around that will get a ATI HD Wonder working with GB-PVR.

Sub/aint skierd,

Yes, this is an old problem. The work around is to use TS Reader to get all of the settings and then populate them in GBPVR. Back a ways (year or so), I wrote a tutorial on how to do this. Once I created the channel settings, I copied them to Excel so that if I have to reinstall the ATI HDTV Wonder or GBPVR, then I can recreate the list quickly (I use the same Excel file to set the channels for my OTA HVR-1600 -- it makes for a quick setup).

Ahh... somehow I anticipated something like this... welcome to my universe. One would think I would grow accustomed to this....sigh.
BigBus- I'm sorry but TS reader means nothing to me. Could you please elaborate?

Gentlemen, thank you for the fast infomative replies.

Are you talking about the all.ini and using frequency numbers instead of channel numbers?

Edit: Found your post with instructions but the instructions were an attachment that has been pruned from the server.

When I get home tonight, I will have to find the stuff for the tutorial. TS Reader is a program that will scan for channels. You then have to find the settings per channel and populate the channel string in GBPVR. It is time consuming but if you save the results (copy and paste) them back to Excel, then you will have an easier time next time.

I use the Excel file to populate the OTA channels on my HVR-1600 also (the reason for this is I have an antenna that I have to rotate to get all of the channels and you can't get them all to show up with the channel scan in GBPVR).

aint skierd, where do you live? Someone may be able to provide you with the tuning strings for your area.
