I have just rebuilt my computer with a fresh windows xp install. I had mediaportal rc3 working, but have seen the new gb-pvr build so I uninstalled MP and installed gb-pvr.

I have tried to setup the capture source, but when it does the channel scan, it doesnt find anything, then crashes at the end.

There is no card setup for the nova-hd-s2, but in the past I have used the hvr-4000 instance and this has worked. Doing the autodetect thing it picks the card up as the hvr-4000

Logs attached - can anyone help me get this working, on older gb-pvr's it has worked with this card (as a hvr-4000)

just tried uninstalling and reinstalling gbpvr, no change... it looks like it is doing a channel scan, but doesnt find anything... and sometimes crashes the config app when the scan is finished.

Try re-registering filters is in the GBPVR folder in the start menu.

I can tell from the logs that it never got as far as trying to start the device, so its checking a device that isnt running, which wont find channels. Its not clear to me what problem happened though to cause it, and I'm away from my code so cant check it.

thanks Sub - at least it might not just be me going mad! When you get back to the code if there is anything you need me to do to check this then just let me know and I will have a go and report back

@sub - anything I can try to get this working? Would an install with the prev release to get a scan, then an upgrade work as I can scan in the prev version (or could last time I tried!). I would love to give gb-pvr a go again.

Anyone else got this working with the same pvr card?

You should be able to use someone else's scan cache file as a basis for mapping channels. That is what I have done with my incompatible S35 tuner.

I think Pob uploaded a recent scan file at http://forums.gbpvr.com/attachment.php?a...1223924067
If not, I have one on another machine that I can dig out if it would help.

There must be something else going on, as I have the same card and it scans fine! No crashes with 1.3.7 - though it still misses a few channelsSad
So I would check physical connection or use Hauppage HWclear and reinstall drivers. You mentioned you uninstalled MP - do you have any other apps installed that still work with the HD S2 card?
