Slick Skin Background Image/Wallpaper

i copied some jpg's to "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\media\MenuArt\Default" (latter two folders didn't exist, so created...?) but still no background image.

i'll check the pvrx2.log when i get home but wanted to check...

Yes, thats pretty much all you have to do. Post the logs pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look.

I had a hard time getting them to show up as well.
At first I put a bunch of images in media/MenuArt/ and after a while (don't know how exactly) they started to show up.
Then I moved the pics into media/MenuArt/Video Library and again they took a long time to show up. So I decided to start small and just put one image in media/MenuArt/Video Library and it wouldn't show up for the life of me.

Yet, once i put two (2) images in that folder then it would show up. So it seems that you need at least two images in the folder in order for it to pick up? That seemed to be the case for me anyway.

I created the folders and stuck one image in and it worked right away. So I added a second and it swapped between both of them. The only thing I noticed was that they were zoomed into the middle of the picture (kind of like an overscan), but I figured that it was either to do with the size of the images (straight from a 4 MPixel camera) or the background_overlay.

I played around with this a bit last night, and I think it has some awesome potential for making a gorgeous PVR. I started making some picas collages of my album art, movie and TV images to use as the bacground for those plugins.
I found that you really had to lower the MenuArtUpdaeSeconds down to 1 or 2 seconds (the default is 25s) in Config.xml to get a good effect for the plugin specific backgrounds.

Very cool/easy upgrade.

following earlier advice, i left one image in the folder and reduced the MenuArtUpdaeSeconds in config.xml to 5 seconds and rebooted. still no joy...

By any chance, are you using Vista? If so, open Windows Explorer with administrator rights and then copy the images to the folder.

am using vista and have disabled UAC (and always use admin account)

will check permissions though, as is something i haven't done (copies jpg's in the same way I copy avi's etc. so should be ok...)

ok, since creating Video Libray and Music Library folders within MenuArt, the background images now appear!

this has affected LiveTV though, which doesn't work either via main menu or TV Guide. Am sure people have noticed this, though - right?
