I am currently having the following problem:

When I scan for clear QAM channels only one channel gets detected (the sports on demand promo channel), but the channels that got detected earlier (meaning with GBPVR 1.1.5 or 1.2.7) or and are still listed (more or less) still work. GBPVR 1.2.13 did have the same problem, but I was silently hoping it would go away Wink

Let me explain the "more or less" part. It takes about 60 seconds until my Fox (WOGXDT) channel gets displayed after I chose the channel number. Sometimes I get a "Channel is currently encrypted" message, but after a while the channel gets displayed. The channels look good, no tearing or artefacts, panning is smooth, so I don't believe it is a signal strength issue.

The attached logs.zip was zipped and attached after doing a full scan (for example not showing WOGXDT at 107.103), closing the config application, then opening PVRX2 and watching WOGXDT for a while.

This link shows the channels that are to be expected to be available im my area.

Suggestions?

Do you get all the channels in WinTV?

I wasn't using WinTV anymore. But now that you asked I tried .. and it failed. I realized that I recently "moved" my GBPVR installation to a new system with a "new" installation of my HVR-1600 (driver Version 4.2). I copied the GBPVR configuration without doing a new channel scan so didn't realize the scan wasn't detecting the clear QAM channels anymore.

I tried the current Hauppauge driver Version 4.6A, same effect - no channels in WinTV or GBPVR.

Then I went back to my previous driver version 3.4d1 and WinTV and GBPVR started finding the channels again. Is this a known problem? I will send a bugreport to Hauppauge and find out what they think.

I am very interested in this as well.

WinTV actually found and tuned the channels (most of the time) but GB-PVR was reporting during its scan strength -6000 quality 97 for parts of the scan where I know channels exist. (i've attached logs from the most recent scan).

I am also using 4.6A. In a different part of the country and in a different machine (but same tuner card) I was able to get QAM, it had older drivers.

vmq: Did you download the older drivers?

winTV and my lcd tv can tune the QAM channels.

edit: here's part of the log:

See, -6000;

You can try adjusting the following values in config.xml:

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

Don't know if they will help or not.

Also, does WinTV tell you the frequency for the channels?

Changed those two settings from 1 to 5 and 15 to 25. Same results -6000/97

Also, wintv (useless program) gave this channel info (see attached screenshot). Definitely not the frequencies (at least as GBPVR gives them).

Try using the Qam.ini manager and select the "Default with frequencies" option. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38408

Other than that, we may need to find out your PID numbers and create the tuning strings manually.

Yes, shortly after I got my card last year, but they are still available: hauppauge_cd_3.4d1.zip

So far I only got an automatic response from Hauppauge pointing to some FAQs and a link to a support forum http://www.shspvr.com/smf/. Interestingly enough there seems to be a 4.8 driver version available, see here. I haven't tried them yet, everything works fine here with 3.4d1 at the moment Wink

I can't get QAM.ini manager to do anything - no matter what button I press! What am I doing wrong?
