Hey all,

I've just got GBPVR all set up and it's mostly working great... my clear-QAM channels come in great, and watching them live is fine. I'm also not having any problem recording the HD channels, I just can't play them back in GB-PVR. When I try to play them back, pvrx2 just crashes.

However, I know I can play the videos, they play just fine in Windows Media Player... any ideas? (I have attached my logs).

On an unrelated note, I'm new to the whole computer-pvr thing... I'm using mc2xml to get my EPG... how many days does each EPG cover? Do I have to update it every day? My EPG worked yesterday, but today most shows don't have any info available.

Thanks guys!

If it plays back well in WMP but not in PVRx2 chances are you've got a different codec set in config than what WMP is using. I would suggest using "System Default" and see if that works. Though it's usually better to specifically set your codec.

You could also use graphedit to see what your computer is using for codecs when playing with WMP

Regarding the EPG, mc2xml usually downloads about 14 days worth of data. It's give or take, as it seems if someone has the flu at Microsoft, then there's no one else to flip the switch to give another days worth of dat. Generally, you should update everyday, and you will usually always have 7 to 14 days of data in the guide...

mcxml does have a switch that will make it only download if it's new data, therby limiting your download bandwidth...

I solved my EPG problem, thanks.

Still don't know what to do about playing back my recorded HD shows... My advanced codec's are all set to system default. From Video decoder in the InterVideo NonCSS decoder.

I ran the Decoder Checkup Program (Worked fine on Vista x64), and this is what it says:

MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2 Video Decoder
ATI MPEG Video Decoder
Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
ATI CC Multiplexer

Non of them were set as preferred, so I tried setting each one (seperately) as preferred... nothing worked.

Try the ATI MPEG Video Decoder option, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Do you have a different audio decode you can try? I see the current selection is having some problems.

Have you tried AC3Filter?
