Hello all, first post here. I downloaded & installed GBPVR 1.3.7 last night. This is my first experience with GBPVR, and I must say I'm impressed.

I'm trying to understand how the Video Library uses mymovies.xml files and where they need to be located. I have 3 questions.

There is sample mymovies.xml code in the 1.3.7 announcement thread. First question: Is that the whole file? That's it? Just create the file, add that, edit relevant data, and ... done?

Next, where does that file need to be? I have ripped all my dvd's to this folder structure:
..\Movies\(My Title)\(Title assigned by DVDFab)\MainMovie\ ... then the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders.

Right now, to watch ripped DVD's in GBPVR I have to do a lot of browsing through these folders until I get to the VIDEO_TS folder. In this 1.3.7 announcement thread linked above, it looks like sub has all his .avi's displaying inside a single folder.

Finally, how do I need to set up the folder hierarchy so that GBPVR can "see" all the movies and mymovies.xml files without drilling through subfolders?

Thanks!
Jay

Yes.

You can have either:

..\Movies\(My Title)\(Title assigned by DVDFab)\MainMovie\MainMovie.xml
..\Movies\(My Title)\(Title assigned by DVDFab)\MainMovie\MyVideos.xml

You cant for DVDs, since these need to stay in their own folders with VIDEO_TS below them. For other media types (.avi, .mkv etc) you can have them all in one directory if you want, with a <moviename>.xml for each one.

Ok.

So if I understand correctly, given the DVD folder hierarchy, GBPVR will not let me simply scroll through my movie collection.

Is there some way I can define a folder structure in GBPVR's config file(s) such that it knows to look inside of folders for metadata & artwork? That would be pretty slick. Something like:
Location of Videos: D:\Data\Movies\
Location of Metadata: D:\Data\Movies\#wildcard#\mymovies.xml

I installed the MovieWiz plugin, which basically does what I want, but I'm not thrilled with its aesthetic integration with GBPVR's 'slick' skin.

The 'Aeon' XBMC skin is amazingly beautiful. I especially like the variety of graphical movie browse views. I wish I knew more about skinning - I'd love to re-skin MovieWiz.

Sorry, no can do at this stage. The video library is a simple directory based file browsing utility. It doesnt try to be a movie database, so doesnt have this sort of functionality.
