Okay so I've absolutely no idea how to make a website, but I had a stab a creating a GB web page as a graphical exercise.

The idea is: a web version of GB's blue skin, keep it very very very simple (hopefully it looks intentional simple rather than - fisher price "My first Web Page" Smile ), single page site with virtually zero maintenance, used primarily to redirect users to the forums and wiki.

Okay be gentle now :o

Personally I kind of like the monochromatic look here:

That's actually pretty cool. If sub likes it, I can convert it to a web page.

Yep, looks nice to me too. I like simple, specially when there really is no need for "extra's". I think websites are often too complicated because the designers want to use/show all the "tools" they have.

Works for me! I prefer the blue background, however.

I like it.

- although with firefox, to me it looks like quite a bit of unused "bluespace" at the top.

I like the new homepage, although I find white text on a black background uncomfortable to look at - feels like my retinas are being burnt! Would prefer the text to be off-white / less contrasty.

May I make some suggestions? One of my personal interests is the UI aspects of web design but by no means take anything as gospel - just my opinion Rolleyes

1. Make the "TV - Video" etc tag on the header more "graphical" and look less like links. I tried to click on them and then realised it was just an image. Unless there are some real (useful) links that could be here instead.

2. Should really change the font of the text as it looks nasty compared to the nicley rendered headings. Perhaps an Arial-alike or whatever the heading's font is?

3. May want to re-read the "about" text. Looks like some words are missing in sentences. eg: "watching live tv, but it can? also playback of a wide variety"

4. Reading the About text I was thinking great, where can I find out more. It's not that obvious that it's the forums and wiki that you need to go to. Perhaps change the links to "Discussion and Support forum" and "Documentation Wiki".

5. Also agree with pob above. Possibly increase the font size a little too.
