Hi All,

I'm testing the GB-PVR Media Centre and am very impressed with it's features and interface (I'm looking to replace another media center that I've been running for over a year now).

However, I have one small issue - When selecting the capture source and selecting "Australia", there is no region selection for Adelaide. The only other selection that results in channels being tuned is "All Channels", but there are several stations missing from this selection, namely SEVEN and SBS. I have two capture cards: one Hauppauge HVR-2200 and one DViCO Fusion HDTV Dual, both of which work perfectly under the other media center.

Member GARS also posted this question in July 2008 under General Discussion, but received no reply.

This is the only issue preventing me from changing to GB-PVR at this stage, so any feedback or ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you

Maybe try the 'all countries/all regions' setting, and enable the setting to scan offsets (misc tab).

Hi Sub,

FANTASTIC! That did it - now I have all the channels I expect to see. Either you're a genius or I asked a very dumb question? If its the latter, how do you know to do that?

Thanks again mate!

Most card will auto lock the offset frequencies used in Australia themselves, without the app having to force it. I know the HVR2200 is one of the few that wont. I'm not sure about the Fusion. Probably just bad luck that you had two of the few cards that wouldnt do this.

Hi again,

It seems the solution offered is not the answer to this problem after all and I still have two issues:

1) All the expected channels are indeed being scanned-in by the DViCO Fusion HDTV Dual Card, but I cannot get the second channel of the DViCO to scan at all. The first uses Dev1 and works fine, but Dev2 (or any other number chosen) results in the message "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured......Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device".

2) Both channels on the HVR2200 (using Dev1 and Dev2) scan okay, but I am still missing Channel SEVEN and SBS on (both tuners) ie. my original problem is still present on the HVR2200.

Any pointers would be welcome.
Thanks

It probably means the definition in the bda.ini file doesnt match the exact filternames for your specific fusion card.

This most likely means that the specific frequency SEVEN and SBS are broadcast on was not in the list of frequencies that were scanned.

Thanks for that Sub,

It makes sense, but unfortunately I don't have a clue what to do about it, so QB-PVR has been uninstalled. Maybe I'll try it again in a year - hopefully the setup will be a little more user-friendly. Back to MP.

If you can run filtercheck.exe and post your filtercheck.log, and config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log after you attempt to scan, then I can take a look.

You need to find out exactly what frequency those channels transmit on in your area so that we can check that its a frequency GB-PVR is scanning. If its not, then we can easily add it.

Thanks - I'll change over to the GB-PVR hard drive later on and get back to you with the info.
