Doesn't look safe to be using ANY version of Internet Explorer at the moment:
  • News Article
  • Security Threat Advisory
Personally, I am a Minefield browser user anyway, but most use IE so thought I would pass along the warning.

Still don't use anything but FF but nothing is safe for long.

I use CTUPDATE to download updates I choose and it burns them to CD so they can be installed on standalone machines if needed.

Also be aware that the IE update will not work if you have previously changed the registry to move your program files directory to a different place. (works if you change it back though for the update).

What about all those computers that loop running Windows Update?

What about those people that avoid Windows Update like the plague (for whatever reason)?

Hey, I didn't write the blog. :p

Opera pushed out an update to its popular web browser on Tuesday that fixes vulnerabilities it described as "extremely severe".
The update fixes seven security bugs, some of which were previously known. Version 9.63 of the browser addresses separate code injection risks stemming from flaws in HTML parsing and text inputing, respectively. A critical bug with similar arbitrary code injection risks involving the handling of long host names in files has also been patched.
