Hello,
My problem is that I am using HIP with the MCE remote that came in the HVR1600 media center kit on windows XP. It works pretty good, but whenever I go into a sub-menu ( like tv guide ) it takes a few seconds to wake up when I go back to the Main Menu. Which is weird, I can't seem to replicate the behavior in regular windows. It seems better since I set the polling interval to 500ms. Any HIP/gbpvr related wisdom?
Some background:
What prompted me to upgrade and switch remotes is that the older of my two HVR-1600s ( I had one with the old style remote, and a newer MCE style one ) started having problems. The system would spontaneously reboot with no errors. A few days later the older card reinstalled itself on boot up ( a clue! ) and the old style hauppauge remote quit working. The ir.exe refused to start. I pulled the card and it stopped "black screening". The system has run for 3 days flawless since I pulled the card. It was rebooting twice a day before. Now the ehome ir receiver is not supported on XP, so I'm using the irbus.sys out of the hauppauge driver pack with the major and minor numbers added to the inf file, the MCE remote entries deleted out of the registry and HIP to receive the commands. So, it's not like I'm surprised by some occasional strangeness.
My system is a Athlon64 3200+ 2ghz 1GB RAM, ATI 2600 PRO ( saphire ) running Windows XP sp2. Gb-pvr version 1.37 ATI Mpeg decoder dvr-ms mux.
Thanks for any insight.
