Sorry but I just can't get my head around this one. I just built a great new PC client. Now I want to use my Harmony remote to control it. I have an extra PVR 150 card with IR sensor. Is there any way to use this to control a PC client?

Where I am lost is in set up. Do I have to add a capture source and then select client mode?

I have Vista 64 so that may be another issue. I have not yet been able to install the Hauppauge software. I am not sure what I need to install to get the IR to work.

Otherwise, is usb IR my best choice?

Thanks

I have not used this card (I had the 350) but I think if you download the latest driver bundle and install just the driver and ir software, it should work fine.

You won;t need to setup a capture source in gbpvr but you will need to click on fix 45button remote option to update irremote.ini to include the section [GB=PVR]

I don;t think it matters whether the install is in client mode or not. the ir software is just sending key presses so pvrx2.exe just thinks that you are using the keyboard.

Thanks

I just tried it and it seems that Vista 64 with 4 gigs of ram is no-go for the 150 card. I can load the IR software, but can't start it. It appears that Hauppauge will not update the driver and is offering some kind of exchange (along with $$$) for upgrading to the digital cards (per the UK Hauppauge forum)

So now I need to find an IR receiver that will work. perhaps the uirt.
