I have been looking for a solution to this problem for days now...

I have got a HVR 1800 MCE Kit and a pvr 150 card.
The kit comes with the "beanbag" receiver and option to run 2 ir blasters.

I have 2 Sat. receivers that I want to change channels on. Problem is, only the #2 port blaster works. #1 seems dead. I have tried Girder,Hip, and every combo of the replacement drivers for the MCE remote.

Pouring over 100's of posts, and many forums, looks like I'm not the only one stuck with this problem?

When I got the pvr150 card way back, it too was a "MCE Kit" back then I tried to use the #1 blaster port and it didn't work. I just used #2 with no problem, since I only had one sat. box.

So, could this be a hardware issue? Both my old "Kit" and my new "Kit" don't seem to be blasting on port #1.

I am running XP pro. latest PVRx2.

Of course it sounds too suspcious to be sure, but I had the same problem on port one of a Hauppauge beanbag...

So that's three that I know of, so it sounds like a software configuration issue.

But I didn't scratch my head for too long. The MS version of the remote beanbag and blasters is dirt cheap, and headache free

Same for me...only #2 worked. I got the unit with a PVR-500.

Ditto the MS blaster...works great and can be had pretty cheaply.

Have you tried IR Server? I will have to check but I am pretty sure I am using port#1 on the MCE kit that came with my PVR-150. I am not using the replacement drivers though. I did the registry edit because it allowed me to still use my remote to bring the PC out of standby.

Yeah IR Server Suite may work, but I gave up on the Haup Beanbag before IR Server came out...

I did confirm that both ports on the ehome receiver I got with my PVR-150MCE work using IR Server and the default drivers with the registry edit. However I am using Vista but I am fairly sure that I had the same setup working under xp pro before switching.

No luck with IR Server.

What would a part number be for a MS blaster? maybe I can get my hands on one.

From what I have read, the blaster problem is non existent in Vista.

Thanks for the help. ----------------yet, more hardware to buy........................

I am pretty sure the key part is to use the original ehome driver and not one of the replacement drivers. I think this is what fixed it for me when I was using XP.
