Hey there,

If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to the UI/navigation controls.

>The main menu system is fine with the left/right arrow keys or mouse-wheel navigation. But it isn't always clear to noob'ers that a right click will take you back to the previous menu. Maybe if there was a subtle button appeared when mouse movement occurs this would help with the UI.

>A help button available from all screens would be nice. Maybe as simple as listing the available keys/navigation controls for that particular page or maybe as detailed as the kind of thing Windows help provides (chm file or something).

>channel changing via the up/down/mousewheel is convenient, but maybe a little H.U.D display along the bottom with channel +/-, volume +/-, enter channel #, etc would make it more user friendly.

>on the video library playback mode, it would be nice to have a little H.U.D in the bottom 1/8th of the screen with buttons like play, stop, pause, volume, and other options. Something similar to Media player I guess.

Those are my wish list items. Smile BTW this app is great... already donated this year (which was long overdue).

Sub (the author of GB-PVR may have his own reasons) but I've found a Help button to be unwanted clutter in a HTPC environment where there is limited screen space. I'm pretty sure there isn't a help button in MCE.

Don't you see the OSD when you wiggle the mouse while watching TV/video files? Screenshot of OSD: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=25

My main goal in requests like this are general user adoption. Has anyone built their media pc up and customized the skins to look all sexy, configured the metadata then show it off to the wife but she's unimpressed because she can't figure out how to make it work? I dunno... maybe this is because I'm using a wireless keyboard instead of a remote but the keyboard has more flexibility than the remotes do IMO.

Sorry... I should have emphasized the word "small" H.U.D.... Whenever I shake my mouse the HUD suddenly pops up and covers most of the screen making it difficult to watch the movie simultaneously. It also stays up longer than I'd like since I have to click the unpause button to resume then wait a few seconds for the HUD to go away. MediaPlayer has a much smaller screen footprint along the bottom of the screen that does not obscure viewing.

The large OSD is desinged for the "10 foot interface" of a typical HPTC setup.

If you're willing to play with skin files you could make the current OSD smaller and look more like the MediaPlayer user interface.

I had the Remote Wonder Plus and stopped using it... i was very unimpressed with the responsiveness of the navigation button controlling the mouse cursor... it always kept going when I wanted it to stop... or was too slow. trackpad is the way to go for sure.

Then of course I upgraded to XP 64bit and found that the remote wonder plus drivers are not supported on xp64. I'll just man the HTPC and she can man the popcorn.

try this: http://www.gyration.com/?l=en#productDet...ediaRemote

The mouse control is so good it's almost scary. I giggled like a school girl the first time I used it. All the regular remote buttons work great too, though there's a couple I had to program using EventGhost. The WAF has been excellent.
