I recently made the switch to QAM(HDhomerun) and it works well except that one station (CBS-HD) creates 0 byte recordings.

This station is unique because the setup app could not find it when scanning for QAM channels and setting the Qam.ini Manager to "Center frequencies" and "Center frequencies (70+)" All other channels could be found except for that one. If I try a scan in the setup app with "Center frequencies (70-138)" it finds the missing station and I can view it in the window. Recording anything on the station however, results in a 0 byte file.

I'm attaching logs. The first attempt resulted in a 0 byte file(CBS-HD). The second attempt was on a different station on the same frequency and succeeded. The log entries look the same except for the tuning info.

Another issue worth noting is that the config app crashes near the end of the scanning process. The stations that are found are saved but it crashes every time near the end of the scan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whats the name of that recording? The channel name isnt shown in the logs, so I cant tell which recording with only the channel name to go one.

Is it always at the same channel number?

The recording that fails is The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson_20090113_23370037.ts.

The successful recording on a different channel but same frequency is South Park_20090114_00300100.ts.

I've attached a log of of tuning in the problem channel successfully through the Config app.

I've also attached two scans. Both crashed in different places.

I removed the HDHR capture sources and started from scratch but I still get 0 byte recordings. I also created a custom qam.ini file that only contains frequencies of the stations I receive. Using that resulted in no crashing but I still can't get away from the 0 byte files.

When I start a recording, GBPVR requests the correct frequency from the HDHR (I confirmed it in the HDHR manager.) The HDHR starts streaming over the network (confirmed by watching the network stats.) But nothing is written to disk.

So to sum things up:

-The HDHR app can find and tune the station successfully
-The config app and tune and preview the station correctly
-GBPVR can request the station, it (or something) gets set over the wire at 12-14Mbitr/sec, but I get 0 byte files.

Here's my cache file:

Sorry I have been meaning to look at this over the last couple of days, but have been pretty busy.

I suspect I might have get a 1 minute long 'full ts' recording for that channel, so that I can reproduce the error here in the debugger. You'd need to put it on a webserver for me to download. If you dont have access to one, you might need to use one of the public services like megaupload or similar.

No problem. I'll set it up.

Thanks.

Ok, so there are the stations that share the frequency:

Code:
T:589250,0,0~P:5~V:52~A:53~PMT:51~PCR:52~N:>58.1  CBS HD* (000(AC3))
T:589250,0,0~P:41~V:412~A:413~PMT:411~PCR:412~N:>58.2  WMLW* (000(AC3))
T:589250,0,0~P:42~V:422~A:423~PMT:421~PCR:422~N:>58.3  ThisTV* (000(AC3))
T:589250,0,0~P:12~V:122~A:123~PMT:121~PCR:122~N:>12.1  WISN-DT* (000(AC3))

If I enable Full TS and choose record any of these stations, I don't get the full stream, just the stream I requested. That includes the station that creates the 0-byte files. So the Full TS option works with that station but I'm not getting the full stream. Here's the download link for that station capture:

http://rapidshare.com/files/186888267/NC...00.ts.html

I've attached the native log to show the Full TS preference.

If you've still got them, can you post the recording service logs for this NCIS transport stream before I download it? As long as its log reports Full TS, then I'm happy to download it.

Do you have the dynamic tuner allocation feature enabled in the HDHR setup? If so, disable it.

I missed the logs by about 2 minutes so I re-recorded it.

Here's the link:

I attached both Recordingservice log files.
