I have been using gbpvr 1.3.7 for over a month now with HDHOMERUN tuner in Vista Business. Up til last this week, I have no problems with gbpvr. This is a great program!

However, after I tried to get the weather plug-in working this week, I noticed that I could no longer playback the recorded TV shows. The video would pixelate and sound would pop and crackle. Or gbpvr would simply crash. I can still play the recorded shows outside GBPVR.

I can still watch TV in Liveview mode. Liveview mode works fine in both SD and HD TV.

Now that I could not playback recording, the following is also broken.

1. Pause Live TV. The screen goes blank for a few seconds. Then GB-PVR crashes.
2. If I disable Live TV in config, then I can not watch any TV. GB-PVR simply crashes.

I removed the weather plug-in by Vista System Restore. That did not solve the problem. I also upgraded to 1.3.11. That did not help either. I have been using the following codecs: MPV, MPA, AC3Filter and Direct Sound Device. These codecs all worked before.

Anyone has similar problems? Is there a fix?

Thanks Very Much!

Can you try playing a recording then zip and attach the PVRX2.exe.log and PVRX2.exe-native.log files?

Sub,

Thanks for the quick response.

This is what I did. I restarted the PC. Launced gb-pvr. Played the recording. The first time, the sound popped and video pixelated, but gb-pvr did not crash. Stopped the video and played it again. This time, the video did not play, just blank screen. Stopped and started again, this time, it crashed.

The log is attached.

Do you get the same pixelation or is it smooth? If its smooth, have you tried using different video decoders and/or video renderer in GB-PVR?

It is smooth when it is played outside gb-pvr.

Live View also works fine, no pops.

I also tried cyberlink audio codec. It still pops and pixelates in gb-pvr.

I suspect you are using the DVD-ms mux. If so, try switching to the TS mux, start a new recording, then see if you can play it.

I can't view attachments at the moment so I could be wrong.

I just tried to the Nero video decoder. The playback is smooth now. Pause works too.

I was trying different audio codecs, but did not try different video codecs. The MPA codec was working before.

Thanks your help!
