I have been playing around with the settings for last couple days trying to figure out the best way to configure client/server. I have both, PC Clients as well as a PCH, feeding off a GBPVR server. Per advice from sub as well as others in various posts, I setup the digital side of the HVR1600 to use TS Mux and 'File sharing' mode.

With this setup, I was able to stream shows on the digital tuner of the HVR 1600 to the client PC just fine. However, if on the client PC, I then switched to a channel on the analog tuner, GBPVR would just go back to the TV Guide on the client PC. If I switched to Streaming mode with the Cyberlink mux, I was able to watch shows on either tuner just fine. I didnt notice any obvious errors in the log files on the server or client PC's but can try to reproduce the error and post the logs when I get home. Just wondering if this is/was a known issue, maybe with my current version of GBPVR that has been fixed in more recent versions?

Thanks for any input,
-Topper

Some more info:

I switched back to TS Mux with File sharing. I realized the shared folder on the server (specified under "Recordings Share" and "TV Buffer Share" in the "Capture Sources" tab in the config tool on the client) did not have the "Allow network users to change my files" checkbox checked. I checked this box and now I get video on the analog tuner of the HVR 1600, but it super jerky (play 1 sec, pause 3 seconds...).

At the same time, if I open the file in the LiveTV folder of the server (that the client version of PVRX2 is struggling to playback) using VLC, it plays back smoothly.

Playback of shows previously recorded using either tuner (analog or digital) on the HVR 1600 playback without issues through PVRX2 on the client.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
-Topper

I get the same with analog live TV on a PC client. Digital (DVB-T and DVB-S) channels live TV work great. Live analog jerky as you've indicated. Recorded analog shows playback fine. havne't had time to try different settings

I have the exact issue as well, but it's not really too much of an issue for me as I don't really watch too much live TV though pvrx2.

As far as the VLC issue goes, my understanding is that a client sends traffic back and forth (ask and receive) and VLC just receives. (or something like that). So the way VLC does it is different. I am not sure if that kind of system could be implemented here or not. I suspect not or sub would have done it already. Maybe it is a directshow thing. I know windows media play will not even let you open files wile they are recording.
