I am having some troubles viewing TV, I recently installed GB-PVR and the tuner I have is the pinnacle PCTV nano stick 73e.

I have done some searching on the forum and found some points that I have corrected
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=PCTV

To start with the correct capture card details were not in my bda.ini file (strange as I have the latest release..) I have update this as suggested above but no luck so far.

I can map all of the channels correct (see attached pic) and I could even hear some audio while doing the mapping but no picture, during the scan signal strength and quality were good…..

PVRX2 displays all of the EPG data, and this also works on my PCH front end… and I can change channels but no pic’s or audio….

I have tried the supplied Pinnacle TV software and I can view TV just fine, I suspect I must have some settings incorrect….. any ideas?

What H.264 and HE-AAC decoders do you have selected?

Thats probably a good sign you dont have the required decoders installed. You'd need to install the Monogram AAC decoder for HE-AAC, and Cyberlink or ArcSoft decoder for H.264.

Thanks Sub, got the Monogram AAC installed , but cant find the H.264 ones you suggested, they only seem to be part of programmes, any other freeware ones you could recommend?

Sorry, no there isnt any freeware ones you can use. H.264 decoders are not as interchangeable as MPEG2, so you cant automatically use any H.264 movie. The app pretty much only has built in support for the Cyberlink, ArcSoft and CoreAVC decoders.

Thanks Sub, I tried the CoreAVC decoder and it seemed to work well, good picture quality! I could get sound on the server but not on the PCH, Suspect there is some setting on that I need to sort out?

Thanks for the help Smile

Unfortunately the PCH doesnt support HE-AAC, so you wont be able to use it for watching anything other than TV3 (which has AC3 audio), until the manufacturer adds support for HE-AAC.

So there is no work around that other NZ'ers are using to still be able to get sound with Freeview using the PCH as a front end?

No, not that I'm aware of. The PCH just doesnt play HE-AAC audio.

It's fine with the audio on the DVB-S version of Freeview though (which has MPEG1 Layer 2 audio instead).
