I'm looking forward to it.

I was a fan for the first few series (5?) but it started to feel like they were throwing too much money at it and I went off it. Then again, 5 or series is still pretty good!

Thanks - I'll look out for it.

I too lost interest in it after Series 6 when Grant and Naylor split and they stopped filming before a studio audience. I've got them all on video up to then though - I might have to dig them out now I think of it.

21 years since the first series, eh? Oh boy I feel old.

Cheers,
Brian

I remember my dad, brother and myself watching this when it first aired and it was the must watch show every week for us. I agree the last couple of seasons were not as good, but I found myself watching a few weeks back and thinking that their were not as bad as I remember them being.

I recall that I used to watch it on a old portable b&w tv with the sound coming from a dedicated nicam stereo tuner being fed into an audiolab and mission speakers. At least the sound was decent...

"Maybe we should drop the defensive shields?"
"A superlative suggestion sir, with only two drawbacks: one, we don't have any defensive shields and two, we don't have any defensive shields. I know that, technically, that's only one drawback, but it was such a big one I thought I'd mention it twice"

I bought the whole series on DVD as they came out.... I was so excited when I read this on the BBC news website.

I'll be ready to grab everything as soon as I'm done stuffing myself with Easter candy!!! Big Grin My PBS stations are so bad around here, I'd probably wait another 21 years before they'd ever air the two episodes, never mind the specials.

I wonder if BBC America will pick it up ?
I first saw them via snail-mail on Beta tapes from a friend of a friend.
I bought the DVDs for the commentaries and extras.

I might be able to allow a couple of downloads from my server for backup reasons of course...
