After upgrading to the latest version of GBPVR when I turn my PCH off it just goes to a black screen instead of reverting back to the main PCH menu.

I have upgrade the PCH firmware from the August08 version to January09 version but this hasnt made any difference.

Anybody else the same or know how to fix?

TIA Steve

Compress and upload your GBPVR logs and I will have a look.

I didn't see an error but near the end GBPVR is in a pretty funky state repeating odd rectangles and I'm not sure how well I handle these updates

Code:
2009-01-28 18:22:35.531    VERBOSE    [6]    sendIncrementalFrame3 (loc = 0,0) (rect = {X=0,Y=0,Width=0,Height=0})

srhutch your logs have the same odd screen updates so I will be making a patch tonight to not process those empty rectangles although it is unlikely that this is the problem.

@everyone before powering off the box could you telnet to your PCH and issue the command

ps

I am looking to see if mvpmcx2, mono, or gaya show in the list. I have seen a few more instances with the new firmware where gaya itself is hanging on restart but that is out of my control. The solution for this is what everyone (I think) wants, Syabas should support a proper method of starting applications like mpvmcx2 without using hacks.

The current process of returning to gaya is going to crash from to time too, until sub and I come up with a proper exit logic, after Syabas allow applications. The same problem has existed with mvpmc for a long time, but mvpmc just restarts a watchdog process that doesn't exist on the PCH after a crash.

Can you provide clear instructions for the Telnet request, I asume you mean from a PC, but not sure.

thanks

Ok, to run telnet (assuming you have installed it in Windows) open a command prompt and type

telnet ##.##.##.## (entering the IP of your PCH)

You will get a message saying Busybox .... and then an # mark which is the PCH command prompt here type the two letters ps and the enter key

You will see a list of the running processes and I am looking to see if gaya mvpmcx2 or mono are still running

type exit at the # prompt to leave telnet

If telnet is not installed I'd suggest downloading Putty (via google search) it provides a nice GUI to telnet and lets you save your setting too.
