Hi,

I finally installed my channels in GBPVR.

But now when i start live-tv on my MVP i only see the correct channelname but got a black screen.
In my live-tv directory everytime a new file is created but it stays at 0 bytes.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

Reproduce the problem, then email all your log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com

What type of capture card do you have?

It may be that the decoder that is selected (which may be the system default decoder) is not compatible with GBPVR. This decoder may come from some DVD player or MPG2 player that you have on your system. I had this problem yesterday when I was trying to install some different codec that might be faster. I installed MGI SoftDVD Max, and that software is not compatible with my current system for some reason. It played audio, but only gave me a black screen in the program itself, and when I tried GBPVR, it also only gave me a black screen. Installing PowerDVD and changing the decoder in GBPVR solved the problem, letting me watch videos, live TV, and DVDs.
Hope this helps

I'm having this same problem, too (black screen). I get one or two frames of video from live TV, then it goes black. I do get audio and can change channels, go back to GBPVR menu, etc. but no video.

I see someone mentioned using the PowerDVD decoder. Is there somewhere I can get this easily?

My system:
- Athlon XP 1300 (1150MHz)
- Shuttle SK41G, 512MB of 266 RAM
- 120GB 7200 RPM WD HDD
- PVR-150
- WinXP SP2

sub - let me know if my logs would be of any help. TIA.

PS - I just installed a different codec (Elecard) and same results. Also tried timeshifting (watch show that's being recorded) and same result.

If you're using VMR7, you could try switching to overlay. Did you explicitly set the Elecard decoder on the Playback tab of the config app?

sub, I have tried VMR7 and VMR9 (ps - why can't I do 9??) and overlay. VMR7 and Overlay do the same thing.

I've tried explicitly setting the Elecard driver and the Intervideo Non-CSS... driver as well. No joy.

FWIW, I had this card working in another PC (dual P2-650) and could watch live TV on it. I've since taken that PC down so there's no good way to go back and test it there.

PS - I've attached my logs just in case.

Probably because the drivers for your video card dont support it.

I'm guessing there is some other decoder or video filter on your machine, with a high system merit that is automatically inserting itself into the playback graph and getting in the way. If you have FFD Show installed disable it, as this is often a culprit. In the next release there are some diagnostic message in the log files that will allow me to identify the exact component.

Gotcha - will disable FFDSHOW for now and see.

Is there some kind of diag I can do in the meantime? I am an MCSD .NET coder so I can prob stumble my way through it. Is there a way to use GRAPHEDIT on a running process?

My kids are away until tomorrow night so I've got some geek time available...

In Graphedit you could try the RenderFile option on one of you mpg files, and see what filters it adds to the graph. It may help.
