Hello all. I've installed the software and am using it exclusively to play DVD ripped to the hard drive. I'm not setting up a tuner card (yet)

I've got it playing the videos through the PVRX2 Movie Wizard ... its showing covers, movie info, all nice stuff.

But none of the movies have any sound. When I play through VLC or other players, it is fine.

I do have an optical audio port on the PC that goes to the stereo, and that works fine with VLC, etc.

I've tried each of the "Audio Renderers" under the Playback tab, but no joy. When I go into control panel > sounds, I can hear sounds under IDT Audio1, which does not seem to work in GB PVR

My Audio Decoder shows system default, MPEG, Cyberlink, InterVideo & Nero Digital.

I'm not sure what to do next ... any help would be greatly appreciated!

THanks

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the audio decoders on your system.

It's best NOT to leave the video or audio decoders on the config playback tab set to "system default".

I've installed K-Lite codec pack and it seems to provide most of the neccesary codecs for both video and audio. Note though, some folks do not recommend codec packs like this and prefer to identify only the neccessary ones and install only those instead.

Thanks ... that did the trick. I went with K-Lite and it worked. I know it has every codec under the sun, but quite honestly, I'm not experienced enough to know which to use, not to use, so if I have a few extra sitting on the hard drive doing nothing ... so be it. It works!

Thanks again
