I'm looking for a cheap solution to copy all of my old home videos/VHS tapes to disk. Since the card will only be used for this purpose and probably not again then I am looking for something that is cheap, and because I'm cheap too. Any suggestions?

Did your pinnacle stick not come with the a/v adapter cable?
If so, could you not use that?

It does come with the A/V adapter but it only has one audio input and when I record things to it the audio is horrible. Makes it sound like an echo because the VCR/camcorder has the right/left audio output and I can only plug one in.

Would a Y cable work to fix the audio then?
Sorry, I realize it's not really what you were asking in your post, but it would be a lot cheaper to get that cable working then to buy a new device..

Something like this

I would pickup a used PVR-150, and use the A/V inputs. Might want to post a request here or in the general discussion board, I'm sure there are some people here with an old one laying around.

I'm looking to do some VHS conversion too. I'm thinking about the Compro Videomate C200.

I'm not sure if something like that would work or not. I'll try and find one and give it a try.

Just thought I'd let you know - I got one from Ebuyer - works great with my analog camcorder (yellow and white RCA output jacks).
