To boot the MVP needs access to a DHCP service to obtain an IP address and then it needs to be able to tftp a file called the dongle.bin file so your firewall needs to be open on several ports. You also have to enable the GBPVR MVP server in the config program by setting the number of servers to autostart to 1.

thanks for the quick reply. i really appreciate
1) i have the linksys WRT54G and i know it has the DHCP service, so for sure it will get an IP address.
2) the tftp part, yea i did install the last the last version of the gbpvr, and the dongle.bin file its rigth there. and also to let u know i didnt install the hauppagge software so that will not gonna cause the problem.
3) the last part you told me about the config server number, i dont get it. so if you can expand a lil bit your meaning i will appreciate

thanks again

I meant upload to this forum. In any case the problem is your network it is taking too long for the dongle to transfer by tftp, this usually takes me 15 seconds. It still could be firewall related and you have got work on improving this transfer speed. If you are using a wireless bridge try a wired connection.

Code:
2009-02-15 00:34:23.350    VERBOSE    [6]    getValue: /settings/MVPLoadPluginsEarlier : false
2009-02-15 00:34:23.350    VERBOSE    [6]    MVP Control thread waiting connection
2009-02-15 00:35:33.913    VERBOSE    [5]    Received BOOTP request from client. bytesReceived: 300  address: 192.168.1.106
2009-02-15 00:35:33.913    VERBOSE    [5]    Responsed to BOOTP request from client
2009-02-15 00:35:52.139    VERBOSE    [5]    Received BOOTP request from client. bytesReceived: 300  address: 192.168.1.106
2009-02-15 00:35:52.139    VERBOSE    [5]    Responsed to BOOTP request from client
2009-02-15 00:35:52.344    VERBOSE    [4]    Received MVP TFTP request: dongle.bin
2009-02-15 00:35:52.468    VERBOSE    [4]    Sent dongle block 20
2009-02-15 00:35:52.672    VERBOSE    [4]    Sent dongle block 40
2009-02-15 00:35:53.020    VERBOSE    [4]    Sent dongle block 60
...
2009-02-15 00:36:56.295    VERBOSE    [4]    Sent dongle block 5740

Since you are trying to load the mvpmc dongle try the Hauppauge dongle it is smaller but with the slow throughput you might have some problems with video anyway.

This is in the GBPVR configuration utility, "MVP&NMT" tab, "Number of servers to autostart", set it for the number of MVP's in use at a time on your network.

The MVP will need to connect to the Hauppage server on the same IP as GPBVR for the autoload to work. The boot script uses this IP from flash to tftp the dongle.bin.config from GBPVR.

If you use dongle.bin and not mvpmc.bin you will should see GBPVR.
