The audio has been missing from a few programs recorded (most are fine).
Varying the codec configuration doesnt seem to affect it.
Logs are attached.
I can post a snippet of the video file if it helps.

It looks ok from what I can tell in the logs. Maybe try playing the file with a non-directshow player, like vlc, to see if audio is present in the recording or not.

Sorry, should have said the audio is present in the recordings but does not work when played back with gbpvr .The audio works using directshow, with it building its default graphs using graphstudio program.

If you can supply a 30MB or so chunk of the file, I'll check it out. A utility for cutting a chunk can be found here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=2

I just tried playing the file here and it played fine, and gave me audio.

I might have a slightly later GBPVRTSReader.ax than you, which may have an impact. You can get the most recent on to try in the survival guide.

I have installed it now, & re-registered the filters but not luck - see attached file.

Have you tried setting the AC3 and audio decoder to something other than 'system default'? If so, what options did you try? I'm sure its related to the decoders being used.

Try setting the AC3filter default renderer to directsound (it's on the system tab in ac3filter config)

Also, I ended up having to not use AC3filter as my decoder as it didn't like having multiple copies of itself loaded, but that may only have been when doing spdif passthrough of AC3.

If the renderer change doesn't help, set ac3filter to prefer other codec in the same tab, and see how that goes (and set your audio decoder to something other than ac3filter - or ffdhsow if you are doing ac3 encode)

That did the trick, thanks.

How did you know to try this? I would like to know more about codecs etc but it hard to find a good source of info.

Edit:
This fixed recordings playback but broke playback of some other mpegs. To get the lot going I set gbpvrs 'audio decoder' (in config) to AC3Filter but the 'AC3 decoder' to system default. They both now work - I dont understand why though.
