Just wondering if the application uses name based season recording or if it uses a time based algorithm.

My concern being, if they change the time slot, day or time of day, will the season option still be good?

Regards,

It uses a mix of time based an name.

Where the title = the title of what you are trying to record (I make the distinction of title and subtitle - some programmes have subtitles as a separate field, this is ignored). And where it's within a 4 hour band of time (-2 to +2 hours from the original recording) it will record it.

Then it's a matter of did you select weekly on this channel or daily on this channel.

I think there might be a "on whenever" which I think just looks for that title and disregards time of day and day.

We usually select the all episodes on this channel option. You sometimes get the reruns they run in the middle of the night but it always records even if the time changes. You just have to make sure if that if it is something that may be delayed due to say sporting events that you add extra time to the post padding so that you can get the whole show. I've used to have to add a good hour to the amazing race as it comes on Sundays and football would make things later than they should.
