might get rid of my philips remote as it seems to cause problems with sleep and i can't update the drivers without causing wierd problems (on wake, normally).

contemplating getting a logitech harmony one but wanted to check if anyone has one and used it with GBPVR?

appreciate any input
cheers

Assuming I can get my GBPVR setup functioning properly(made a thread about it) I too would consider the Harmony One. I'll probably buy it anyway because I need an all-in-one remote, and would hate to not spend a heinous amount of money on the top of the line.

...But seriously, I want the remote, it would be an added benefit if it worked with GBPVR.

I've got the Harmony 525 and I've had it working with gbpvr as both a Hauppauge style remote, and now as an MCE remote.

I don't see why the Harmony one (as ugly as it is :p ) would not work.

Check your IR or USB Receiver here, near the bottom of the web page, check compatibility link. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remote...8&cl=us,en

i cant see it fixing your problem
you will still be using the same receiver
if your philips remote doesnt bring it out of standby then the harmony one wont either i dont think it comes with a receiver
you would probably need a mce remote receiver and harmony one remote

yeah i have a rf philips one it works fine most of the time
but takes a bit to reconnect when not used for a while
are you using event ghost with it ? that made it heaps better for me

i also have the ir part of it programmed to mimic my mce remote /receiver through hip that works well

i have a recurring problem on sleep (random failure to fully enter sleep) and each time, the remote loses it's connection. is more than co-incidence.

i did mimic my mce remote and use the IR but it wasn't very good - very unresponsive, hence me looking at other remotes.

also, i have to use the original drivers on the CD - if i update, i get problems on wake. all of my issues disappear when the remote/receiver is removed!

i cant remember what i did for the not reconnecting when it should but it seems ok now
as for responsiveness when acting as a mce remote with mce receiver its all good did you learn the codes or load it as a Microsoft device only reason i ask is i found it doesn't learn codes well at all

i also have a harmony 525 the buttons click and feel awful so check that out before buying a harmony remote

well, i bought a harmony one and gbpvr doesn't seem to like it as much!

do i need to use IRServer? can't i just emulate an MCE remote? am using vista with an MCE IR receiver so should be simple, right?

have configured the device in the harmony software as a Media PC - Microsoft - Vista Media Center...
