I can't seem to use Multi-Record,
MDapi is installed, and I can see live encrypted channels (using acamd and newcs).

But when trying to record 2 channels at the same time (from the same transponder), gbpvr tells me that a recording is already started..

Also, gbpvr doesn't use mdapi when recording, thus giving me encrypted captures.

Only the first recording would have used multidec.

Not even that recording uses multidec.

Is it btw possible to decrypt multiple channels with multi-record?

It definitely works for me. I do this often.

There is also a <BDAAllowMultiRecordOnEncrypted> setting that can be set to false to make sure it wont try to do multi-records on encrypted channels. This is useful for people getting a mixture of unencrypted and encrypted channels, and want to be able to make use of the multi-record feature for their free to air channels (and not used for encrypted).

No its not. Some people have used post-record decrypting tools though, to decrypt their encrypted .ts files.

Does anyone know of any good post-record decrypting tools that decrypt SECA2?

(Also known as offline decrypting / decoding)

I was able to find a way to decode multiple streams on the same transponder using Mediaportal.

MDAPICards.xml uses EnableMdapi="6" (use any number you want, it indicates how many softcams it has to start, insert the ammount of channels you'd like to use at once).

And Mediaportal is able to load the same card multple ways.

Would it be possible for GB-PVR to also do this?
I like GB-PVR more because of the lighter setup.

Any change on this subject? Is it still impossible to record two encrypted programs simultaneously? Even with two separate tuners? I've got 2 FireDTV DVB-C tuners, and all channels from my cable company are encrypted...

Sorry, there is no change on this front. Its only really possible to decrypt one channel at a time with multirecord.

With multi-record disabled, and a newish version of mdapifilter, you might get lucky with two DVB-C tuners. (one channel decrypted by multidec for each)

OK, thanks, I'll try that. Btw, I noticed that there is a new mdapifilter released a few days ago...

Hm, found this in the wiki, but then I assume it's outdated info...? :
Quote:Record Out-of-Process

* If this is enabled, the recording service will use a separate executable to do a recording on a digital capture device. The reason for this setting is to work around a limitation of some version of the multidec filter that will only allow a maximum of one instance of the filter per-process. With this new setting enabled, the user can now record as many encrypted channels as they want, instead of the old maximum of one encrypted channel at a time.
